Plasticine
Man |
Faces
on the Wall
With
the previous introduction past, Faces on the Wall begins
the story of Plasticine Man with the end of his 5th dimension life, his
suicide.
The opening lyrics, Papers in the Hall, Roll one for us all,
is a maripata reference. It simply means: There are rolling papers in
the hall. Roll a joint for everyone listening. Relax and listen to the
story about Plasticine Man s tragic fall.
The lyrics, You should have heard the call, It was written on the
wall , simply means that you should have been able to stop this
tragedy from happening because the signs were all right there.
And then there s the keyboard solo! I call the keyboard solo in
this song, the suicide dance . The keyboard solo represents
the suicide itself which spawns Plasticine s life to flash before
his eyes. (The flash back is represented by the final 12 tracks of the
album, beginning with the 3rd track White Light , and ending
with the 15th track, Garden of Eden .)
The last verse, Voices fading softer, and the image growing small ,
expresses the hallucinogenic effects the poisoning is having on Plasticine
as he starts to die.
